2007 Jus Soli Madder Lake Zinfandel
Tasting Note: Hedonistic is a word that comes to mind. Beautiful, nuanced aromatics with blackberry jam, plum, black cherry, notes of bacon. Plush in the mouth, showing raspberry, chocolate, cracked pepper, herb and mineral notes. Very long and complex with subtle tannins. I call this a baby Gamba. Super rich and fruity.
The Madder Lake Vineyard ranges in elevation from 1600 - 2200 feet and is noted for its steep hillsides, thin rocky volcanic soil, excellent exposure and many truck-sized boulders. They are proud to release their first vineyard designated wine from this spectacular site. 325 cases made.
